I am trying to run OpenSwitch 12.5.1 for ASE Warm Standby option.
Please find bellow Basic Info.
OS: Windows 2K 5.00.2195 service pack 4
OpenSwitch: 12.5.1. EBF 12761,
OpenServer: 12.5.1. EBF 12650-12649 ESD #9,
OpenClient: 12.5.1. EBF 12649 ESD #9
Database is Sybase ASE EE 12.5.2. on Linux
I checked from the OpenSwitch machine I can ping both RDBMS.(DSEDIT)
After I installed the OpenSwitch and immediatelly configure it
everything worked fine. I manage to connect to the OS and see my DBMS.
As soon as I stopped and started it again I can not connect to it. In
both cases I use ISQL or Sybase Central Java Edition.
The message is "Unknown procedure name: set".
There is nothing in OS log except usual versions of OpenClient and
OpenServer as well as what is configuration file used.
What shall I do?
TIA,
Vladimir
I managed to connect from the ISQL and to run sp_who:
There I see 7 tasks are running: first without any name, Connect Handler
X 2, Deffered Handler, Callback and my ISQL.
But when I try to execute any select or anything else got the message:
Unknown procedure name: select

Check your OpenSwitch.cfg "ADMIN_USER" and "ADMIN_PASSWORD".
When a user connects to OpenSwitch, it compares the username/password
that is trying to connect to the "ADMIN_USER" and "ADMIN_PASSWORD".
If they match, you are logged into OpenSwitch as the admin user
and you can only execute commands there.
If the username/password does not match the ADMIN_USER/PASSWORD,
OpenSwitch forwards the connection onto ASE where you can run
your select statements.
Thanks,
Neal
It worked. Thanks.
Now I have another one.
I want to make Win Service and I followed the Instructions from Install.
Guide.
It says there under d) to change ImagePath with something pointing to
srvany.exe. I do not have such file on Win 2K.
I tried with system32\services.exe but with no success.

It should be available in the "Windows NT Resource Kit CD"...
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;137890
BTW. One do not need whole Resource Kit CD just the file. It can be
found on the NET.
