Can we have a statement from Sybase regarding support for
MacIntel ? We strongly need an intel-recompiled OpentClient
for Mac OS X.

Hello,

Sybase does not have any plans to port to Mac Intel. In fact,
Sybase will no longer provide ASE on any Mac OS platform by
the end of 12/31/2009:

If you intend to use ASE, it is recommended that you begin
migrating to a supported platform.

Another option would be that Sybase iAnywhere Delivers
SQL Anywhere 10 For Mac OS X on Intel:

Thanks,
Neal

Hi Neal,

The EOL notice above doesn't mention OpenClient SDK on Mac OSX. Do you
have any info on the future of Openclient/ODBC/etc on MacOSX?

Just trying to figure out where we're heading on Mac. At worst, we
still have jConnect (JDBC) for the Mac.

Hi Jason,

Same story for SDK and Open Server:
http://www.sybase.com/detail?id=1053695
http://www.sybase.com/detail?id=1053916

NOTE: I don't think they updated the Open Server EOL notice
to be extended to the same date as ASE and SDK (12/31/2009).
I'll let engineering know.

Thanks,
Neal

Thanks Neal!

I find it curious though that the SDK would be targeted as well as it
can be used for SQL Anywhere. Hmmmm... oh well. I guess we will be
limited to jConnect and FreeTDS.

Sad day
