Install problem with e-Biz Impact Client 5.4

I am trying to install eBiz Impact Client 5.4 from
ebizimpclnt54win322.zip on an XP system (thin client) with
SP3. Even though the install claims to have been
successful, it is split second fast and all that gets
created is the
C:\Sybase\ImpactClient-5_4\ismpeLogs\install_log.txt file,
which I attached.
If I try the install again, it thinks the client is
installed. I can elect to "reinstall" it with the same
result.

If I copy the Sybase directory from another system (where
the install was successful more than a year ago) and try
reinstalling, a window pops up titled "Install JVM" that
says "A Java Virtual Machine (JVM) is being installed in
"C:\Sybase\ImpactClient-5_4\j2re1.4.1_01" and will overwrite
the contects of this directory. Do you want to overwrite
this directory?" If I select "No" the install stops. If I
select "Yes" the j2re1.4.1_01 directory goes away and the
install stops. I attached that log file as
install_log_2.txt

Anybody have any ideas? This is the first time we have
tried installing eBiz Impact Client 5.4 on an XP thin client
with SP3. It has been running on such systems w/o problems,
but was installed on them more than a year ago when they
were at SP2, and probably had fewer/other "baseline" apps as
well.

I had a similar problem .. it turned out to be the install
script

I downloaded another that Sybase support provided
- that did work

I don't recall the version they gave me
