Is there a way to connect a SYBASE database directly from
VisualC++ Ver. 6.0, without using the ODBC interface?

Thanks,
ral

Yes, you can use the Ct-Library functions. This requires the SDK (Software
Developers Kit).

Thanks a lot for your answer.

This software is unfortunately unknown to me but it`s
certainly freeware;-)!? Can I use the CT-Library by
including the "CTAPI.DLL"-file? It seems to be unpossible to
get some informations about connecting databases without
using the ODBC-Interface. I think, i`m the first human who
wants to do that...;-)

(Sorry about my bad school-english)

Hi

Client-Library is a Sybase ASE proprietary interface (API). These are
routines written to use C/C++ and you need
1) license to use the API and 2) knowledge of the API and usage, etc, in
order to write code. I'm not sure what the
CTAPI.DLL is used for

Thanks for your answer. I`ve tried to download the
ASE-interface at "My.ISUG.com", but it`s about 450MB
software!!! I`ll try again in the "next year" from the
office...

I wish you a HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Sorry, the last answer was created by "ral", not by "ASE".
ASE is the reference... My mistake!
