Hi,

Can anyone suggest a viable option for Sybase ASE (12.5 or 15) and ORM
(object-relational modelling) for the .NET world? I have looked at:

1) Linq2Sql -- supports SQL Server only.
2) Microsoft Entity Framework -- support from Sybase for SQL Anywhere
only, not ASE (why?????)
3) LLBLGen Pro 3 -- costs $$$ although looks very powerful.
4) Data Direct driver -- looks like it supports Entity Framework but I
think costs even more than LLBLGen Pro.
5) NHibernate -- unclear as to whether there is an NHibernate provider
for Sybase ASE, so needs more investigation.

Seeing as it's unlikely I can get approval for LLBLGen Pro 3 or Data
Direct licenses for our whole team, NHibernate looks like my only
hope. More research is required though.

Surely someone out there is using some sort of ORM solution for Sybase
and .NET! Can you please help?

Thanks,
Simon.

It looks like NHibernate does not support Sybase ASE either:

If anyone in the community has used Sybase ASE and any sort of ORM
solution on .NET, please help!

Thanks,
Simon.
