ASA 8.0.3.5002 and XML select statement

Unfortunately I am stuck using ASA 8.0.3.5002 due to a
legacy
application built onto the front end of this thing, but I
have a compelling need to do a remote procedure call to a
2005 SQL Server from this instance of ASA 8.0.3.5002. My
desire is to pass the parameters I need (as an XML string)
into the 2005 SQL Server procedure and then parse it as
needed for some other functionality. I know the ASA
8.0.3.5002 will let you export the results of a select
statement into an XML formatted file via the Sybase Central
GUI but I haven't been able to find any syntax that allows
you to do this with a SQL statement (i.e. FOR XML
AUTO/RAW/EXPLICIT). Is it possible and I
am trying to use the wrong syntax or is this something that
just can't be done in version ASA 8.0.3.5002??? Any help in
this regard would be appreciated. I didn't find a forum
specific to Adaptive Server Anywhere so I am hoping I am in
the right place to get help for this.
