Lessons with Warren encourages you to both sing and play piano, and shows you how to do it effectively. If you have trained yourself to play by ear as I did, I had to learn the knowledge of the chords I played and recognize their sound.
I graduated from the Royal Academy of Music, Aarhus, Denmark with a Bachelor of Music degree in Education and a Master of Music degree in piano performance and chamber music. I started playing the piano when I was 5 years old with Maria Raffaelli. During my five years at the Royal Academy I was a student of professor John Damgaard. After graduating I taught piano and general music at Billund School of Music, Billund, Denmark.
I have been teaching music, mainly guitar and piano, off and on for almost 15 years. My style varies on the age of the student, what they hope to achieve and where their strengths lie. I feel it's important for the student to learn the fundamentals while simultaneously having fun with their instrument and exploring the music they feel passionate about. For me, the trick is inspiring the student to pick up their instrument everyday and want to play it. Read More
How do I know if my child is ready to start lessons?
Your child will continue to ask you about starting music lessons. They will show you their desire to learn by following through with theirweekly assignments and learning songs.
Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.

Waco Tribune-Herald: Baylor lecturer's music lessons ease upheaval for young Ukrainian pianist
Piano lessons sometimes carry more than music between teacher and student. In the case of Baylor University senior piano lecturer Bradley Bolen and gifted 11-year-old Ukrainian pianist Myron Maletskyi, online lessons provided a bridge over which compassion and sympathy could travel in time of war.
During high school, Willis also aspired to become a professional basketball player; he even was offered a few athletic scholarships. But his passion for music triumphed, and he enrolled at the Manhattan School of Music, where he studied music theory and voice. Once there, he met South African trumpeter Hugh Masekela, whom he would perform and record with regularly. It was Masekela who encouraged Willis to take private piano lessons from John Mehegan to strengthen his jazz chops.
