Created a Windows PE TCP/IP Network Boot Image using Ghost Boot Wizard. In this image, I've manually added 9020 drivers for windows 7 32 and 64 bit downloaded from the Dell website which came in a driver package.

1. I thought I found the correct drivers from the Dell site using another computer, but when I try to copy the exe to a USB drive I get a message asking me if I want to do the copy without the file properties! I've never seen this before.

2. If I continue anyway and copy it from the USB drive to the 9020, I get a message saying that the exe I'm trying to execute is not a valid Win32 application.

3. I tried running the exe on the 2nd PC and copying the contents to the USB drive but none of the drivers work for the NIC.

4. I installed a wireless USB to the 9020 which works, but because this is ancient software, I'm unable to connect to any websites via Internet Explorer to look for drivers.

"I installed a wireless USB to the 9020 which works, but because this is ancient software, I'm unable to connect to any websites via Internet Explorer to look for drivers." I think this might be your answer.

I haven't been able to transfer drivers with properties. To clarify on the internet access, I can get to Google and do a search but if I click on any links on the mostly text page that's returned I get a "page could not be loaded error". I've located a chrome download and will try to transfer it to WHS with a usb drive, but I have an initial backup running using WiFi (30 hours so far!) and don't want to mess with anything. I've also ordered a PCI-E ethernet card with drivers.

This page contains the list of device drivers for Dell OptiPlex 9020 AIOAB03QT/. To download the proper driver, first choose your operating system, then find your device name and click the download button.

a couple of other things to check - make sure wol is enabled in the driver settings in windows - if it's not there make sure you grab the latest driver from the dell site as sometimes the drivers windows picks up can be basic. Disable fast boot on windows, also try disabling hibernation.

I've installed Win 7 and added the service packs. (The myth of the slick "just works" windows behemoth laid to rest. ) Then I added the Intel driver for the ethernet NIC and currently windows update is running. (Phew!!! What a palaver)

Hey Mark, I have some Dell Optiplex 9020 and I import network adapter drivers into MDT and update both MDT and WDS, but still have issue when boot from PXE for error: a connection to the deployment share could not be made.he following network device did not have a driver installed. Have you met this issue after you import drivers? And which network adapter driver did you import? thanks.
