Im planning to buy my first flip phone but the only problem is I need to have facebook messenger , in my country (Poland) everyone use it and contact there including my friends and family so I need to have it on my phone. Is there any good flip phones that i could download messenger on?

So I use bold text in certain parts of my messages like *bold text* (which translates to bold text) and it works perfectly fine in desktop version of Facebook and also on messenger.com but strangely the android messenger app can't display the text between the asterisks in bold, instead, it just prints out *bold text*

Facebook Messenger statuses aren't accurate. My fiancé and I had the same problem. When he says he's going to work but yet after a couple of hours it'll still say he's "active now". As he never brings his phone to work, I called his work place and confirmed he arrived on time and was clearly working. There are a few times that both of us are in the same room and checked each other's status in Messenger, it'll say "active now" although our phones are offline or charging. The app isn't accurate so don't worry about it.

In general, Facebook does a ton of lying and errors about statuses. So your bf might be telling the truth about leaving the phone on. But if these naps happen too often and at weird times, he's simply hiding you from his chat. Whatever the reason.

Hi folks its Carlos,

I just down loaded face book messenger.

I found my cousin on it and I pressed the call botton.

When the call started my speaker turned of and I had to hear threw my iphone 6 speaker.

I could not make voice over talk or go in to speak phone or anything.

When my cousin ended the call then I was able to get voice over to talk again,

any help with this would be appreciated.

Also as fare as face book messenger,

I can not find a log out botton.

how can I sign out of the app?

I found a way to get to my face book profile in the more options and there was a logout there but that was in the regular face book.

When I went back in to the mmessenger I was still loged in.

Thanks for any help.

Carlos

I'm assuming you mean the call and voiceover came through the earpiece, like a phone call does? I don't use Facebook calls often, but last time I just had to hold the phone close to my ear when tapping the screen and just do my best. VO would talk through the earpiece where the call is coming from but there has been updates since then so it could have changed.

As for logging out, you can't. I don't know why but there isn't a way to do it, apart from reinstalling each time you want to logout.

Hi its Carlos,

well I tried using facebook messenger to call again.

When I make a call it goes in to phone mode when I take the phone away from my face the speaker does not turn on.

I can not click on anything I believe there is a speaker botton and a hang up botton but nothing works.

I pressed the home button wich starts voice over working but only in phone mode not as speaker.

I was able to go to the app swicher but I wasn't able to close the app,

but I might of tried sliding the wrong way.

Then I went back in to messenger and again voice over stoped talking and I couldn't do any commands on the screen.

Thanks for any suggestions folks.

And if you have encountered these problems with face book messenger and no of work arounds,

please let me know.

Carlos

This is why I never use Messenger to make voice calls. It quite frankly, sucks? There is a way to log out of Messenger. I don't have it installed on my phone right now and cannot quite remember but I believe there are tabs at the bottom of the screen that say things like "contacts, people, games, home" and something else but I'm not remembering what that is. Anyway, you must remember each of these items do different things. The People tab for example can be used to see all people who have messenger installed and are your friends, and you can also filter people to see who is online. The home tab is where you will spend most time and it arranges messages by order of receipt, last received showing up first. It's sloppy at times. The calls tab, the one I forgot, shows a record of placed and received calls and let's you place calls. Somewhere in all of this is an accounts tab where you can switch accounts and log out. But it's hit and miss. My recommendation would be to enable or disable Messenger via the notifications screen in your settings app. You can double tap the notification for messenger on and off and make it as simple as that. Personally, I am not a fan of messenger and typically access my messages via my browser and If you have any questions about Facebook or Messenger feel free to contact me through the contact form or directly by emailing rexlesliehowardjr icloud.com

Hello, guys:

I am using an iPhone X and when I have made a call via Facebook messenger, I just double tap with two fingers (magic tap). The same magic tap is used to answer a call.

I haven't had any problems with/or making phone calls.

Carlos, maybe you should try uninstalling messenger, close all apps and then restart your phone. Once you have restarted your phone, go to the App Store and re-download Facebook messenger. I hope that takes care of the problem you are experiencing with this app.

Good luck.

Cheers.

The Messenger app can run into trouble if it's trying to communicate over a poor-quality Wi-Fi connection. If you're in doubt about how well your Wi-Fi is working (perhaps you're using a public Wi-Fi network), turn it off and rely on your cellular connection instead. Swipe down from the top of the screen to see the iPhone Control Center or your Android phone's shortcut panel and tap the Wi-Fi icon to temporarily disable it. Then try using the app again.

If you suspect the problem is related to your phone, restart it and see if that solves the problem. You can turn off most Android phones by holding the power button for several seconds, or you can swipe down from the top of the screen to see the shortcuts panel and tap the power icon. Here's how to restart your iPhone, regardless of which model you own.

Messenger stores temporary data in a cache, and if that cache gets corrupted, the app will often not work properly. It's relatively easy to clear the cache, but the process varies depending upon whether you're using an iPhone or Android. To clear the cache on an iPhone, you need to uninstall the app and then reinstall it from the App Store. If you have an Android phone, you can clear the app's cache without removing the app:

5. Watch out for distress schemes or grandparent scams, in which you get a message or a phone call that appears to be from a relative saying the loved one needs money because of a situation they got into. When in doubt, contact the person you know outside of social media.

9. Enable automatic updates so the operating systems on your desktop, laptop, smartphone and tablet are updated whenever software patches to vulnerabilities are released. On a related note, be sure to use software to protect against computer viruses and keep it up to date.

Do you want to call someone without using data or running up your phone bill? Fortunately, you can make free calls over the internet using Facebook Messenger, including international calls! Messenger is more than just sending text messages. This wikiHow article teaches you how to make free voice and video calls with Facebook Messenger.

I've been trying to block the Facebook app on mobile phones and allow Facebook Messenger by using Layer 7 and Content filtering rules but unfortunately the Facebook app still goes through however, it is already blocked on the web browser. Facebook Messenger app is also blocked but I want it to be allowed through.

To achieve this level of granular control you want you will struggle on the Meraki for the reasons previously outlined. You would need a firewall that supports HTTPS inspection, which basically decrypts the traffic to be able to differentiate between facebook messenger and regular Facebook.

Thanks, I deleted the plugin completely and just started the process from the facebook page and added the code directly to the site. Still does not work. I see it on desktop but not mobile. The FB page does not have any geo of age restrictions that would be an issue.

It would if you are making a phone call.

Holding the phone to your ear will disable the screen and removing it from your ear will enable the screen again. Apparently WhatsApp also uses that for audio recordings.

Facebook Messenger is a FREE mobile messaging app used for instant messaging, sharing photos, videos, audio recordings and for group chats. The app, which is free to download, can be used to communicate with your friends on Facebook and with your phone contacts.

Users simply download the app to their mobile/tablet device; the app can also be used on desktop. Users have the option of setting up Messenger using their Facebook account or with their telephone number (similar to Whatsapp, Viber, ooVoo etc.) If you choose to set-up an account with your Facebook profile, Messenger takes information from your Facebook profile to set up your Messenger profile. This information includes friends list, profile picture, etc. The app can sync with your phone contacts as well as with your current friend list on Facebook.

You might think of social media primarily as a marketing channel. But customers expect to access customer support on the social channels where they follow and interact with brands. No one wants to look up a customer support email address or phone number when they can simply click a message icon to access your team directly from Facebook.

There's a reason Facebook's actions were restricted to Android phones. Apple locks down app permissions tightly, which offers more privacy protection to iPhone users. "Apple's fundamental approach is to collect the minimum amount of information to keep the service running, and keep customers in control of the information," said Rich Mogull, CEO of the security firm Securosis.
