Check out the quiesce database option in the manuals. Make sure to quiesce the database to a manifest file "for external backup".

Not sure if you can go from 12.0 to 15.0 in one go - check the manuals - you may need to go via 12.5.

Do you mean the divices files ? if so, check out if the quiesce command exists in your version , if so it is possible using quiesce to a manifest file, copy the devices, release the database and mount on the new server 15.
