Im currently migrating our current Sybase 4.9.2(SunOs 4.13) server to ASE
11.5. (Solaris 2.6). Now, our reports in our current SQL server are written
entirely in APT-DWB. Is it true that DWB wont be supported anymore by
Sybase? If that's the case how can i migrate my reports? Any suggestion? or
is there a new DWB version that would run on ASE 11.5 (Solaris) and is Y2K
compliant?
A prompt response would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

DWB has been EOL'd by Sybase. However, a version was produced
for Solaris 2.x. It may not be still available. I don't know
if it has any y2k issues. Your SunOS version will still work
against ASE. I think Sybase would promote Infomaker for
reports. There are plenty of other tools out there too.
However, it all involves retooling your apps.

im planning to rewrite all the reports in Embedded SQL/C but then again if
there's other way around such that no rewriting of reports is necessary
would be great. right?

Well, in theory your current setup may work. However, I have some
doubts. You could try using Sybperl instead - it not too difficult
and its free. If you are using PCs then things like Infomaker or
Crystal Reports seem to be the way to go.
