Having trouble with the Xcelerator plug-in not loading on a computer.
After manually downloading the package and installing the plug-in, I
enter the url for the appeon application and hit enter. The browser
switches to the "Appeon Xcelerator plug-in cannot be loaded" page and a
message box in the middle titled "Download Center Plug-in Setup" with a
message "Failed to update the Download Center plug-in!"

I have followed the instruction in the "Internet Explorer Configuration"
section from the help file. The problem still persist. I can run the
application from my computer with no problems. My computer and this
other computer are both running IE 8 with the same configuration.

Any help would be appreciated since the other computer is the one my
boss uses.

Hi Mark,

Please try the suggestions below.
1. Turn off the firewall and anit-virus software first to
see if the problem can be resolved.
2. Manually register a system DLL file, atl.dll. You can
first navigate to the directory WINDOWS\system32 or
WINNT\system32 in the windows prompt window and then run the
command line Regsev32 atl.dll.
3. Log into the system as Administrator account and turn off
the UAC settings.

4. Add the Web applications into the Trust sites list. (Very
Important)

5. Click the Tools button in Internet Explorer 8, click
Manage Add-ons, and then click Enable or Disable Add-ons.
6. Check EonDonwloadCenter and EonUISpace classes in every
sub item in the Show list, and delete it when you find any.
7. Access the Web application from
http://Hostname:Port/appeondemo/index.html.

If the problem is still there, please contact your technical
representative in Sybase so to arrange a remote
troubleshooting.

Regards,
Steven

Steven,

Thank you for the suggestions. Unfortunately, the application still
will not run on the computer.

How can I arrange a remote troubleshooting? I don't know who my
technical representative is at Sybase.

Thanks,
Mark

Hi Mark,

This did get solved? If yes, what was the problem/solution?
I am also encountering the same issue with one of my users.
I tried the following steps but everytime, all comes up is a
blank page. No errors whatsoever.

1. Checked if Admin.
2. Updated security settings to Low.
3. Unistalled antivirus
4. Registered atl.dll manually.
5. Added in the trusted list.
6. Deleted add ons.
