connecting to SQL Server

I am trying to connect my Appeon migrated PB 12.5 application to an SQLServer 2008R2 database. When I use ODBC driver I get an 10999 error and the advice for its correction is "change to the Native Driver for SQL Server", but when I do that I cannot connect to the database. I would appreciate any help on this issue.
