And this June gathering is ok, but i hope that r re-union (25 yrs of school leaving) is on in the winters as the firang friends had asked for. Am sure its easier for all of us who stay away from kolkata, desh or bidesh, if its in winters.

Ki korbo bol? I kept posting every single day without any goddamn
response from any one of you. I even went to the extent of opening a
new thread abusing all you guys, but that too failed to 'lure' anyone
back. Finally I got so disgusted that I stopped logging in.

Mone hochchhilo jeno jogajog rakhar ichchhe ta shudhu amaar!

Hi Guys,

Purki and I have been off line as we are travelling in Europe since the 11th of May. E-mail access has been sporadic. We will end up in Turkey around mid June. Both of us going to be in Cal around the 20th of June till the 25th (possibly a bit longer but not yet sure). Anybody up for reunion drinks/dinner/adda at that time?

Hope to see you guys soon.

Cheers,
TG

Hi all:

Looks like we did have the summer heat (and then the rains in Delhi)
affecting us all - dampened spirits?? Add to that the summer holidays
from school (doesn't apply to JB and Prabahan), travelling out of town
for a few days (in my case, 6 days in sweltering Bombay last week to
attend my niece's wedding), health problems on the family front, etc.
etc. etc. - big excuses. Those of you lucky folks meeting up in
Calcutta in June, our best wishes. But then we wanted a gala reunion
sometime in end-December 2008, I think that was agreed to by all. So
set the dates, choose a venue, and then let's get on with it!!! For
me, I confirm that my family and I will be in Calcutta between 22-23
Dec '08 and 2nd Jan 2009 (except 27th Dec (noon) to 29th Dec(noon),
when I have aconference to organize and attend at the Oberoi Grand).
Let's have a show of hands as to who all might be planning to be in
CCU that period. What I can suggest is a get-together at the Oberoi
Grand itself for lunch or dinner (I am paying them a special rate of
about Rs.750 All Inclusive per lunch and Rs.900 all inclusive per
dinner (excluding alcohol) per person, and can extend the same price
for our reunion till 30th December). Organizing something at the
school premises itself - that's for the Calcutta people to decide and
organize, get permission etc. - see if it can be done, and let's get
on with the show! Let's set a target date of 30th June to finalize the
dates and venue on mutual agreement. Rudra, Gourab, Shayantan, Samrat,
you legal eagles reading this? Please draw up an agreement and get all
to sign it, so no one backs out later!! :-)

Shamindra.

Another incident -

This happened when we were in Class IV or V.

During the 'Big Break', Debasish Guha (Hagu) and I were standing on top of the water tank (near the main entrance of the small  school premises) and singing at the top of our voices ''Arre Rafta Rafta Dekho Aankh Meri Ladi Hai....'', bollywood ishtyle. We were so engrossed in melody, that we never noticed the vigilant eyes of Mr Benedict hovering over us for quite a while. When we finally realised it, it was too late - by then he was right in front of us.

No sooner had we begun to wonder whether it was the song or our singing that had pissed him off, he decided to add a little more thump to the song with the help of whatever he found handy at that moment - his ruler and our asses.
