Dear Member,
As you know that we as Jesuit alumni/ae are globally united under the umbrella of WUJA (World Union of Jesuit Alumni) and your association has been playing an important role in the shaping of the Jesuit Alumni/ae movement through this body.
You may also be pleased to know that SXCCAA has been represented on the Governing Body of WUJA from time to time and currently our Sr. Vice President Mr. Naresh Gupta is serving on the Executive Committee of WUJA as the Vice President.
SXCCAA was instrumental in organising and hosting the World Congress in Calcutta in 2003- the First ever in India- and the next Congress is scheduled in July-August in 2026 in Indonesia. We shall be sharing the details of the same soon.
The WUJA is emphasising lot of thrust in bringing the youth in active participation of the Jesuit Alumni/ae movement and in this context an online form has been created at
as part of the preparation for the upcoming World Union of Jesuit Alumni (WUJA) Congress 2026 in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, all young Jesuit Alumni (below 35 years age) are invited to participate in this pre-congress survey designed specifically for Young alumni.
The purpose of this survey is threefold:
to listen deeply to your experiences as Jesuit-educated individuals navigating today’s rapidly changing world,
to identify shared values and concerns that unite Young Jesuit alumni across the Globe, including in fields such as education, leadership, social justice, and interfaith dialogue
to shape the direction of the 2026 WUJA Congress so that it meaningfully reflects the voices, challenges, and aspirations of Indian alumni in a global conversation.
Input from Young Xaverians (SXCCAA members or their children which have been student of any Jesuit Educational Institution) input is vital. We believe that your insights—rooted in Jesuit formation and lived out in diverse personal and professional contexts—can contribute powerfully to the global mission of men and women for and with others.
Please take 10–15 minutes to reflect and respond. Your participation ensures that youth perspectives are not only present but also help lead the way in reimagining what it means to be a Jesuit alumnus in today’s world.
The note from WUJA in this context is also included under this email.
I sincerely request your (jesuit alumni/ae within 35 years of age) enthusiastic participation in filling out the survey at the latest by October 24, 2025
Sincerely yours,
For St. Xavier's College (Calcutta) Alumni Association,
Sanjib Koner
Hony. Secretary
Message from WUJA
Dear Jesuit Alumni, Jesuit Educational Institutions, and Friends,
As we prepare for the 11th World Union of Jesuit Alumni (WUJA) Congress in Yogyakarta, 2026, we are launching this Listening Tour and Global Survey. The Congress is not only a gathering but also a moment to listen, discern, and shape our shared mission together.
This questionnaire has three main goals:
1. Identify Priority Issues
– We want to hear which Universal Apostolic Preferences (UAPs) and social issues are most relevant in your country or region today. These will help shape the Congress agenda and ensure it addresses real challenges faced by our communities.
2. Gather Inspiring Stories & Best Practices
– Across the world, many Jesuit Alumni Organizations (JAOs) and Jesuit Educational Institutions (JEIs) have success stories, innovative practices, and collaborative projects worth sharing. By collecting these, we can inspire one another and learn concrete
steps for building stronger alumni networks.
3. Explore Jesuit Alumni Identity
– We are called to be “partners in mission” with the Society of Jesus. To understand our unique identity as alumni, we ask you to reflect on the values you received, how they continue to shape you, and the challenges you face in living them out today.
Thank you for contributing your time, experience, and wisdom.
