Subject: [EXTERNAL] Val Joshua Award Nominations Open!
Dear Community Partners,
Every year, YWCA Clark County honors community members who have demonstrated leadership in advancing racial and social justice in Clark County. Val Joshua made an indelible impact on our community and we celebrate her legacy through the annual Val Joshua Racial Justice and Youth Social Justice Award. This award was originally given to Val Joshua in 1989 in recognition of her life-long commitment and work toward the elimination of racism. Nominations are now open and will be accepted through Friday, May 5th. The Community Celebration for award recipients will be held on June 7th from 6-7pm in YWCA Clark County’s Community Room. The youth award winner will also receive a $500 scholarship.
Please help us recognize and celebrate the amazing justice work being accomplished in Clark County by sharing this opportunity with your networks, or nominating a community member who deserves to be honored for their commitment to racial justice. The nomination packet is attached, and available on our website at http://wcaclarkcounty.org/vj-awards, and should be submitted to me at sb...@ywcaclarkcounty.org. If you have questions or requests regarding the Val Joshua Award, I can be reached at (360) 906-9143. Thank you!
Sincerely,
Stephanie
