Important details about SWUUSI 2011

How to get to SWUUSI

Western Hills Guest Ranch is located in Sequoyah State Park, on Highway 51, 8 miles east of Wagoner, and 18 miles west of Tahlequah.

Coming from Texas, go north on US 75, veer onto US 69 in Atoka, OK, then turn east onto Hwy 51.
From western OK, either go to Tulsa and take the Muskogee Turnpike to Hwy. 51, or take I-40 to US 69.
From points east of OK and TX, use I-40 or the Muskogee Turnpike.

When to arrive

Registration begins at 4:00pm. The late afternoon start time is necessary so that the lodge staff will have time to clean all the rooms after the departure of weekend guests. You must check in with SWUUSI and get your blue sheet before checking in to your room.

Sunday

SWUUSI provides dinner on Sunday evening to all attendees, in the courtyard, from 4:30 to 7:30. Enjoy the meal, relax, and get to know fellow attendees. Carnival games will be available for your entertainment.

Orientation for first timers, and any who are interested, will be in the Council room next to the restaurant at 7:30 pm.

Opening ceremony will be in Sequoyah Hall at 8:15. Banner carriers assemble at 8:00.

Lodging information

All buildings are air-conditioned. Linens are provided in all accommodations, including  lodge rooms,  cottages, and the bunkhouse. All lodge rooms are non-smoking. Some cottages are non-smoking. Pets are allowed in cottages only.

If you are in a cottage with a kitchenette, be sure to bring all your cooking equipment, dishes, etc. as these things are not provided.

Late arrivals and cancelations

If you will arrive after 9:00 pm on Sunday, please let us know so we can arrange for you to get your room key at the lodge desk.

If you find that you must cancel after 5:00 pm on Friday, July 22, call the lodge directly at 918-772-2545 and leave a message.   There will not be anyone at the district office to listen to any messages from July 23 until after SWUUSI.  Or call Connie at 817-713-9829.
