Bitbke error in swupdate

Hello,

I am facing issue in swupdate during bitbake swupdate-image.

NOTE: Resolving any missing task queue dependencies

ERROR: Nothing RPROVIDES 'sysvinit' (but /home/akash/projects/accordocan/meta-swupdate/recipes-extended/images/swupdate-image.bb RDEPENDS on or otherwise requires it)

sysvinit was skipped: 'sysvinit' not in DISTRO_FEATURES

NOTE: Runtime target 'sysvinit' is unbuildable, removing...

Missing or unbuildable dependency chain was: ['sysvinit']

ERROR: Required build target 'swupdate-image' has no buildable providers.

Missing or unbuildable dependency chain was: ['swupdate-image', 'sysvinit']

Can you help me to resolve this, it will be very helpful.

And guide me how to generate .swu file.

swupdate-image is a rescue system and does not support systemd to have
smaller footprint.

Read the docs and checks examples in meta-swupdate-boards.

Hi  Stefano,

I also encountered a compilation problem with kumar: bitbake swupdate-image.

The platform I use is imx8mmevk,

My yocto version is sumo(2.5), and I downloaded meta-swupdate: git clone https://github.com/sbabic/meta-swupdate.git -b sumo

I have successfully compiled swupdate: bitbake swupdate

When I compiled swupdate-image, I encountered the same problem as kumar.

You said: "Read the docs and checks examples in meta-swupdate-boards." Do you mean we need to modify the formula for imx8 based on meta-swupdate-boards?

I don't know how to refer to meta-swupdate-boards and then modify it.
