How to overwrite fstab provided by meta-swupdate-boards

Hello,

I am trying to provide a custom fstab that overwrites the meta-swupdate-boards fstab file.
Unfortunately i havent been able to do so

Things I've tried

1. Adding a new bbappend for base-files in a custom layer

2. modifying the priority of the custom layer to 999

3. making a custom recipe in the layer to install fstab (doesnt work because conflicts with base-files)

4. modify the fstab using rootfs-postprocess-command

5. change bblayers.conf order

Im out of ideas

I have also tried adding a bbappend with a specific version of base-files instead of a wildcard but it still doesnt work
