SWUpdate

Hello,

 

I am from Siemens AG, currently we are using SWUpdate for our project, which is a fantastic tool and help us a lot.

 

But I have a issue, there is no any progress bar and messages showing during web upgrading, though the image can be upgraded successfully.

 

Is there something dependence we shall open? Or how can I trace this issue?

This is weird, it works on a lot of projects.

I would first check if upgrading to last SWUpdate (from git) has still
this issue.

SWUpdate uses Websockets to communicate the update to the browser. On
the browser, Javascript must not turned be off. Are you using a standard
browser (Firefox / Chromium) ? You could also open the debug console on
the browser and check if it is getting the messages (they are JSON
formatted messages).

Hello Stefano,

First thanks for your quick reply :)

Yes, I am using standard Chrome browser, but there is no any status message after uploading image into our device, see attached screen-shot.

Is it related websocket? We have not compiled libwebsockets before as swupdate dependence, today I tried add this one, but it still did not work.

I also attached my config file, please help check it.

Also I attached my swupdate.cfg and log trace during upgrading.

I commented some lines in cfg file because we have not used. I am not sure it is the reason.

Hello Stefano,

Finally I found the reason why I cannot get firmware upgrade status via websocket. In our device, we have not enabled net loopback interface (lo) which used by mongoose server.

Well, it is like a hidden requirement that accessing to the Webserver
requires working network, and this means both an external interface and
loopback. It will be nice to add this to the documentation to avoid some
headaches if lo is not set.
