New approach to Kuka interface for ROS (KukaRosOpenCommunication)

Hi everyone, 

I developed a C++ library inspired by JOpenShowVar[1] that allows controlling KUKA robots by using Robot Operating System without requirement of an additional technology package. You can find the KukaRosOpenCommunication project [2] and its demo video [3]. It will offer an alternative to the current KUKA ROS support. I hope it will be useful for you.

This is really nice. Thanks for making this and for making the effort to
open-source it.

Could you comment on the status of kukavarproxy? At the beginning of
this year at least, there were some questions about licensing.

Hi,
As you mentioned there is still ambiguity in server side of code because there is no available source code for KUKAVARPROXY. However as far as I test it, I haven't been faced with any error in KUKAVARPROXY. Of course reliability of the server code can be argued. Nevertheless this project may let the researchers like me who doesn't have any technology package such as Robot Sensor Interface to control robot with ROS.
