Hi everyone, i am working with a MA-1400 robot of Yaskawa. My problem is to make the network configuration. I do it as follows:
I initiate it in maintenance mode (with the main menu button pressed), later I enter in the Management in Security by the 99999999 password.
Here goes all like the DX100 OPTIONS INSTRUCTIONS FOR ETHERNET FUNCTION Manual.

Next I go to Setup - Option Function - Network. And in the manual that i have read, it shows that it detect Ethernet in DEVICE. In mine it shows "NOT USED" (saying that my controller doesn't detect the ethernet). I present here an image of mine network configuration.

My DX100 has an Ethernet conection module, it is the standard of this controller (YCP01-E). I tried to make a ping between my pc and the controller (tried with direct and with switch connections) (and with a good ip and subnet configuration of my pc and the DX100), and it didn´t have response. Another thing is that the lights in my YCP01-E module turn on, and too in the ethernet port when i connect it to the pc. I really don´t know what to do, if there is a positility to update the dx100, or there is a bit in the software that disables the ethernet port. Can anyone help me? Thanks.

Omar,

Nothing seems obvious to me.  You've ran all the tests that we use to debug the network issues.  The ROS-I software (if that's what you are using) doesn't doing anything that would disable the Ethernet card.  I'd recommend you try to reach out directly to Yaskawa to get help.

That seems to be a setup issue that should be handled through regular customer support.  I'm surprised that you didn't get a reply to your e-mail.
Are you in North America?  Tech support contact information is:

Please, try them again, they should get back to you on the same day.  If there is any problem let me know, I'll see what I can do.

Thank you Eric, now the problem was solved. I made the comunication with the support, and they sended me a new ALL.PRM, with that I loaded it into the DX100 controller and the word ethernet appeared. Next step is to find how to command the robot with a PC.

Hi,

it would help if you can describe what it is you are after a little better.

Also: this is a mailing list. Any and all replies to your message will
already be sent to you, so there is no need to include your email
address again.

I am trying to operate the robot from my laptop.
But the LAN is not getting established because in the network settings of the robot the device is shown as 'Not used' whereas it should show as 'Ethernet'.

The same thing is mentioned in the first conversation of this thread.

As you can also read in those replies, the issue was solved by calling
Yaskawa support.

I would recommend you try and do the same.

This mailing list is not a generic Yaskawa/Motoman support channel, but
dedicated to ROS-Industrial packages and software.

Hi,

I am trying to communicate with DX100 via LAN as mentioned in the High Speed Ethernet Server Function Manual.

I am trying to get the position data with the Robot Position Data Reading Command as per the Manual. The data sent is as follows (This in decimal form): [89, 69, 82, 67, 32, 0, 0, 0, 51, 49, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 57, 57, 57, 57, 57, 57, 57, 57, 117, 0, 101, 0, 6, 14, 0, 0]

This is as per the packet format mentioned in the manual. The above data when converted to ASCII & hexadecimal reads as Y,E,R,C,0x20,0,0,0,'3','1',0,0,0,0,0,0,'9','9','9','9','9','9','9','9',0x75,0,101,0,6,0x0E,0,0.

I am getting a error in the reply which is Format Error (Access level error) as per the Manual. I am unable to find the error in the format. Please help.
