Hi everybody –
The 2008 Southwest Regional Folk Alliance (SWRFA) is October 2 – 5,
2008 at the Radisson Austin North in Austin TX.
The early bird event on Wednesday Oct 1 will hopefully be at
Threadgill’s North or back at the Cactus Café so that
all of the registered artists will have this additional opportunity to
perform.
The website at www.swrfa.com has been totally updated and it is GREAT!
Much easier to navigate. The forms and schedules and lots more info, a
blog, it’s all there. Thanks Greg Forest.
The Official Showcase submission deadline is August 15. Send a cd with
the 3
songs you want listened to marked, or a burned cd with those songs on
it,
one page bio, photo, the application form from the webpage and a check
or credit card number
for $25 to SWRFA Showcase, PO Box 291466, Kerrville, TX 78029. You
can also submit on Sonicbids at www.sonicbids.com/swrfa (there is a
button for it on the webpage.)
Thursday night will be an open mic by the pool hosted by Butch
Morgan from 6:30 – 10PM. All registered performing artists will have
an opportunity to be heard. All the feedback from last year indicated
everyone was all about
that time together and didn’t want to divide up into rooms until
Friday
night. Should be much fun, was last year!
Sunday morning Song Assignments was a huge hit and we will be doing
it
again in the Elm room during brunch. So much talent at this event!
