HEART 2025:
International Symposium on
Highly Efficient Accelerators and Reconfigurable Technologies (HEART)

May 26-28, 2025, Kumamoto City, Japan (in-person symposium)

*** Abstract due:   Feb 10, 2025 (AoE) ***
*** Submission due: Feb 17, 2025 (AoE) ***

/****************************************************************/

The International Symposium on Highly Efficient Accelerators and
Reconfigurable Technologies (HEART) is a forum to present and
discuss new research on computing systems utilizing acceleration
technology. The main theme of HEART is achieving high efficiency
with accelerators. Today, performance acceleration with high
efficiency is highly demanded in various computing domains such
as high-performance computing and data centers.

In HEART 2025, we focus on power, energy and algorithmic efficiency
on the AI technology such as LLM (large-language model) and beyond.
We also focus on technologies related to quantum computing.

Accepted papers will be published in the ACM International Conference
Proceedings Series (ICPS) and will appear in the ACM Digital Library:

[ New! in 2025: Work in Progress Papers ]
This year HEART 2025 will accept Work in Progress (WiP) papers of
up to 4 pages (excluding references) as well as regular papers
(up to 12 pages) and extended abstracts (up to 4 pages, for the
Ph.D. Forum). This is intended to foster in-depth discussion and
collaboration with other researchers on ongoing research.

For more details, please see the conference website:

[ New! in 2025: Special Session on Quantum Computing ]
This year HEART 2025 will organize a Special Session on Quantum
Computing to bring together experts and enthusiasts to discuss
the latest developments, challenges, and opportunities in quantum
computing. The session seeks contributions in, but not limited to,
the following areas:

- Quantum Computer Architecture
- Quantum Programming and Software
- Algorithms for Quantum Computing
- Quantum-Classical Hybrid Computing
- High-Performance Computing with Quantum Technologies
- Fault-Tolerant Quantum Computing

For more details, please visit the following page:

[ Main Research Track ]
Following its tradition, HEART 2025 will continue to focus on high
efficiency as a cross-cutting issue and seeks contributions for the
main research track in, but not limited to, the following areas:

- Architectures for Efficient Acceleration
  - Novel systems/platforms based on FPGA, GPU, and other devices
  - Heterogeneous processor architectures and systems for
    high-performance and/or low-power
  - Domain-specific architectures
  - Accelerator and system-level architecture for LLM
  - Edge technologies for LLM
  - Neuromorphic computing and architecture
  - Novel systems for quantum computing: qubit simulation, operation and
    error correction

- Design Methods and Tools for Efficient Acceleration
  - Programming paradigms, languages, and frameworks
  - Compilers and High-level synthesis tools
  - Runtime methodologies for heterogeneous systems
  - Performance evaluation and analysis
  - LLM-based design method
  - AI-supported code generation / debugging

- Applications and Systems
  - Application examples that benefit from efficient acceleration
    to a great extent
  - Complete systems showing increased energy efficiency and/or performance
  - Comparisons between accelerator technologies
  - AI for science with higher productivity
  - Efficient models and algorithms for LLM
  - Applications with efficient LLM/Neuromorphic accelerators
  - Benchmarks for ML/LLM

[ Submission Guidelines - Format and Anonymity ]
HEART 2025 adopts a double-blind review process: authors should **not**
identify themselves, so author names, affiliations, e-mail addresses,
and self-references should be blanked out.

1) Regular Papers:
Prospective authors are invited to submit original contributions as
12-page papers (not counting references) to be considered regular papers.

2) [New!] Work in Progress Papers:
You are invited an extended abstract of up to 4 pages (not counting
references) on an ongoing research project. If your abstract is accepted,
you will be asked to give an oral presentation. The presentation time
may be shorter than that for regular papers.

3) Ph.D. Forum Papers:
Ph.D. students working in areas relevant to HEART 2025 are solicited to
submit an extended abstract of up to 4 pages (not counting references)
comprising a summary of their research findings, work in progress, and/or
planned research―the Ph.D. Forum is intended as a platform for Ph.D.
students to interact with peers and experienced researchers.

Note: The form of Ph.D. forum will consist of pitch and poster presentations.
Note: The Ph.D. student should be the first author; thesis advisors may
be co-authors. The technical program committee will review submissions to
ensure quality and relevance.

Please prepare your manuscript using the ACM Primary Article Template
(sigconf format) and follow the guidelines (2. The Workflow and Templates) at:
