SWNSC will offer an Introduction to Nordic Ski class for adults this winter. (The usual clinics will still take place adhoc on Sundays, this is a more in depth class to build skills.)
A session of 6 classes will cover:
Day 1 - Fundamentals: Equipment, balance, control on downhills, uphill options, turning.
Days 2-4 - Fundamentals review, Classic basic techniques
Days 5-6 - Skating basic techniques / classic review

The course includes 6 classes running December 2025 - February 2026. Classes will be held at Camp May Road at Pajarito Mtn, Thursdays 5:30-6:30pm on Dec 11, Jan 15,22,29, and Feb 5,12. By signing up you commit to these times/dates.
Required equipment includes: Nordic skis/poles, dress for cold, and a headlamp. Please note that class time is after dark and we will ski by headlamp. Snow conditions vary, while we hope for the best the class will incorporate dry land activities teaching basic ski skills if lack of snow requires. Nordic skiing is a strenuous physical activity, participants should be prepared for one hour of skiing at altitude.
