2. City Seeks Input to Develop Its Five-Year Consolidated Plan
The City of Knoxville is seeking public input to develop its Five-Year Consolidated Plan and will host a public meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 28, at 6 p.m. at the City’s Public Works Service Center, 3131 Morris Ave. The meeting will also be held virtually via Zoom.
The Zoom link will be available at www.knoxvilletn.gov/consolidatedplan the day prior to the meeting.
Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback on draft funding priorities. This event is open to all. If you are unable to attend, your feedback is still welcome.
The 2025-2029 Consolidated Plan will set funding priorities for an expected $15M+ (over five years) of U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Community Development Block Grant, HOME Investment Partnerships, and Emergency Solutions Grant dollars
for affordable housing, homelessness, economic development, and other community development activities. The Plan is due to HUD on May 15, 2025.

3. PARC Holds Quarterly Meeting

Police Advisory Review Committee (PARC) will hold its quarterly meeting on Thursday, Jan. 23, at 6 p.m. at the Larry Cox Senior Center, 3109 Ocoee Trail.

4. Public Service Department Hosts Hiring Event
The City’s Public Service Team will host a direct hiring event on Wednesday, Jan. 27, from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Public Works Service Center, 3131 Morris Ave.
The City’s Public Service Department is currently hiring for over 20 entry-level positions.

5. Keep Knoxville Beautiful Hosts 6th Annual Summit
Keep
Knoxville Beautiful (KKB) will be having their 6th Annual Summit on Friday, Feb. 7, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at the East Tennessee History Center, 601 South Gay St.
This year’s theme, 'How to Build a Heat-Resilient City,' explores how urban development influences heat retention and mitigation. Join KKB to learn from experts about the necessity of building a heat resilient city where we can continue to live, work, and play.

6. Final Social Media Workshop – Register Now!
Does your neighborhood’s social media account need a refresh? Are you not sure where to start? Join the
Office of Neighborhood Empowerment (ONE) for the remaining social media workshop taking place on Monday, Jan. 27, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. via Zoom. This workshop will primarily focus on how to create engaging, quality content to boost your engagement both online
and in person.
Lastly, on Thursday, Feb. 6, between 4-6 p.m. you will be able to schedule an appointment with ONE staff to have someone review your social media account and help answer any questions you might have. It will be a 30-minute appointment and will be held at the
City County Building, 400 Main St., Suite 546.

7. Community Health Assessment Open Now
The Knox County Health Department (KCHD) requests that neighbors complete the
Community Health Assessment (CHA) Survey by Wednesday, Feb. 5.
This survey aims to gather community input on health priorities in Knox County. The KCHD will use the results of this survey and other data sources to identify the most pressing health needs in the community. Your response will help KCHD and its partners focus
efforts on improving health and wellness in Knox County and address areas where action is most needed.
