May Membership meeting

Hi everyone, 

Neighborhood News......

For those of you that missed it, in our last meeting, we had our annual elections. Here is who we currently have serving on the SWNA Board:

President - Vacant

Vice President - Debbie Helsley

Secretary - Linn Acree

Treasurer - Dale Grubbs

District 1 - Sylvia Woods

District 2 - Andy Blanchard

District 3 - Steve Madden

At Large - Shaun Phillips

At Large - Charles Weaver

At Large - Cameron Carr

At Large - Debbie Sharp

As you can see, the president position is open and we are currently looking for someone who can be a servant leader for our group. Join a committee and see what you think about serving and maybe you'll find that you might like helping your neighborhood thrive. 

Usually, SWNA meets on the fourth Monday every other month.  In May that lands on Memorial Day.  We have a lot of folks traveling, spending time with family, etc., so, we have decided to cancel this year. Please remember our fallen soldiers, also take the time to recharge, spend time with family/friends, and have some great food. 

Lastly, we hope to see you at our next meeting: Monday, July 28.  It will be our school supply drive for several South Knoxville schools.  The current needs that teachers and administrators have identified are: Ticonderoga pencils, laundry pods (to wash children's clothes at school and to send home with families in need), and individually wrapped snacks of all kinds.  Stock up now when you do your shopping so you don't have to do it all at the end of July. 

We hope to see you all in July and please celebrate the holiday safely.

 Also Thank You for including the drive for school supplies. It's stunning to see how much need there is for school supplies. 

Getting these kiddos started with a good foundation can lead to great success!

Thanks for the reminder about our school drive! 

 Our neighborhood association was recognized with an award from the city for the help we give schools.   It was because of your generosity!!  The students will need our help more than ever this year.  Looking forward to seeing everyone on July 28!  Your Education Committee,  Linn Acree, Laura Stone and Nancy Lindemer.
