Meeting Minutes from SWNA's July Neighborhood meeting

I have a few edits for the minutes. Thank you so much for preparing these and sending them out!

1 - My name is spelled with a “y” (Karyn)

2 - It looks like something got lost in translation about the greenway on JWP. There are not any lane closures planned in regards to the greenway. There is enough space to add the greenway without permanently closing any lanes. The future greenway has nothing to do with the current JWP closures.

3 - Another translation item regarding the sentence that reads: "There is a new organization—Down River, which will monitor the South shore of the Tennessee

around Scottish Pike. Meeting on August 7.” 

Correction: There is not a new organization. The Downriver Master Plan was voted on by Council several months ago. The August 7th date is in reference to the RFQ (request for qualifications) that closed on that day. From this pool of qualified candidates there will be a call for an RFP (request for proposal). I’m pasting in a the schedule from KCDC’s website to hopefully make it a bit clearer.

I also have a correction for the minutes.

Under Old Business, the issue of changing the timing of membership meetings is addressed. As I understand it, the Board  is suggesting meeting in Jan, Mar, and July (with a social event at National Night Out in October.) The recommendation from the floor is to have quarterly membership meetings at the traditional intervals of Jan, April, July, and October. This timing is consistent with reducing the total number of meetings, but keeps them at predictable and equally spaced intervals throughout the year without conflicting with any major holidays. Of note, this same recommendation was also made at an earlier meeting - I think March 2026 but it may have been in January. 

Once corrections are made to the minutes, will they be resent for review?
