Greetings neighbors!
If you’ve ever been to a PechaKucha event, you know how interesting the presentations can be.
If you’ve never been to one of these events, it’s a slide show presentation consisting of 20 images, each auto-advancing after 20 seconds. It’s non-stop and each presenter has 400 seconds to tell their story, with visuals guiding the way. PechaKucha was created in Japan in 2003 by renowned architects, Astrid Klein and Mark Dytham. The word “PechaKucha” is Japanese for “chit chat.”
The upcoming event, on November 16th, will include a presentation of particular interest to South Knoxvillians… a presentation by Travis Harris about the Kerns Food Hall.
We’ve all be anxiously awaiting the opening of the Food Hall @ Kerns Bakery and it will be a reality soon!
The PechaKucha event location is:
The Mill and Mine
227 West Depot St
Doors open @ 6:30 and presentations start @ 7:20
NOTE: seating @ these events typically fill up, so if you want a seat, get there early.
