Hello Dogwood partners!

Dogwood is currently looking for more judges for our annual Regional Great Shake on February 17th from 2:00-7:00 pm.

If you're not familiar with this competition, the Regional Great Shake is a day-long competition that challenges our 4th and 5th graders to display their communication skills, creative problem-solving skills, and poise under pressure. They go through a number of challenges throughout the day including "The Gauntlet", which is a series of 12 challenges placing the scholar in the middle of a real-world scenario, and "The Circle of Doom," where students go around a circle and answer interview-style questions (think speed dating!).

This will be the 9th Great Shake event that we have hosted at Dogwood, and the second time that we have opened it up to students from across the Knox County district. This year, we will also host two other community schools and a few other schools throughout the county! We hope to register 75 students this year after successfully hosting 45 last year.

We are looking for people who can give the gift of time! Registration will open at 2:00pm, and opening ceremonies will begin at 2:30pm. The first round will last from 3:00-5:00pm, and we will need approximately 50 judges in order to make it happen. From that point on, we will need at least 10-20 of you to stay until the end of the final round (7:00pm).

Here's our live stream from The Gauntlet from last year if you'd like to check it out! https://www.youtube.com/live/oHOSCoJfnOo?feature=shared&t=1137

Please reach out if you have any questions! Thank you!
