A reminder that the SKNBC Candidate event is tonight - 6:30 p.m. @ South High Senior Living (835 Tipton Avenue).

Candidates will have up to 5 minutes to introduce themselves and address three questions:

  • Why do you believe you are the best qualified person for the position?
  • What do you know about South Knoxville/South Knox County?
  • What, if anything, will you do to improve the area?

There will be time after introductions for attendees to meet and speak with candidates one-on-one.

Here’s a piece that WBIR carried about this event.

NOTE: All candidates that influence South Knoxville were invited to participate: US House and Senate, State Senate District 6, State House Districts 15, 18, and 19, County Commission District 9, Criminal Court Judge Division II District 6, Property Assessor, and County Law Director.

The event will be held at South High Senior Living (https://southhighknoxville.com). This facility has been a great community asset and hosted 2 previous SKNBC-sponsored candidate events that were well attended. Light refreshments, created by the South High Executive Chef, will be served.

SKNBC thanks South High, the candidates, and all the South Knoxville neighbors and businesses who are coordinating this important event.

Hope you can come to get informed before early voting starts on July 12th and Election Day on August 1st.

Visit the Election Commission website for more information about this year’s elections:

Hi Janice,

I don’t know if you can see replies here, but I wanted to pass this along.

This beautiful cat has been hanging around our house (across from Woodlawn Christian Church). She is very sweet and wants us to adopt her, but I’m allergic. We think she belongs to someone because she is very comfortable around people, but she doesn’t have a collar. I was wondering if you could pass this along to see if someone is missing her, or if someone wants to adopt her.
