Hi All,
Is there a way to get the auto guys to carry bins in their autos for the wet waste?
Today, on my street... got all the apartments owners to come down to smell their waste bins !! :))
The auto guy is trying to segregate sitting in the auto.
There genuine cases where residents cannot leave the dry wastes near gates on sundays ( due to sunday mass) thanks to dog menace. So, he'll have to collect it in jumbo bags??

And have told the auto guy to stop collecting if they mix their wastes from tomo.

warm regards,
Niveditha

Managing the bin logistics is next to impossible Niveditha. ALso, putting the wet waste into bins inside the auto is difficult. They need to climb up & down multiple times.
Only solution in your area is that all homes serviced by your area auto MUST segregate. Just your street will not help. Only your street means where will he go with mixed waste from other streets? Please plan for segregation of entire area where this auto fellow services.

We had a good waste segregation demonstration at our apartment (Aditya Shelters) y'day.

Started segregation from today.

Cheers,
Srivathsa

Great, here is a small test....someone from you apt can try it :-)

1. Where will you put coconut shells?
2. What will you do with tissue paper or soiled paper?
3. How will you handle sanitary waste?
4. Who will pick up what kind of waste & on which days from your apt.
5. How will you handle e-waste?

Regards,
Veena.

Niveditha, please add Srinivas B, his mail ID is in cc, to the SWM group. He has been one of our SWM champions since last year.

Can we do the roll out on 16th June. I am on business travel to Japan the following 2 weeks & if not 16th June, it needs to be 7th July. We can do on 16th, though We have also planned a quick drive at 8 am to the corporator's house for following on second DWCC. Few of us can go & join back.

Can you talk to the PK or driver to get the route map of where the auto starts & ends.
How many homes, apts roughly she covers in one day?
We need 30 volunteers on 16th morning. Hope we can get at least 30 from our iCare team, mindtree & yes if you can request them. Best is to get volunteers living there as they can monitor going fwd.

We can meet up at adigas & eat breakfast around 9 & resume the work.
