See my other email. As for 2.0 Beta, that may be gone since it was never part of the Github repo and (as a Beta) was never really meant for production use anyway. Work on that branch pretty much ended as soon as Adobe killed Flex.

Thanks!

Hi Brian,

I think it's a shame to lost 2.0.0 Beta. I know it's not for production since you need debug player, but I think it's a good piece of code that should not be lost.

So , could it be uploaded as a branch in github repo?

btw, maybe an Apache Flex donation could be discussed (including both source code and web site content)

Best,

Carlos

I'm pretty sure the only person who had/has a copy of the source for the 2.0 Beta code is Chris, so he's really the only one who can comment on this.

If someone is actually interested in getting Swiz submitted to Adobe Flex, I'm all for it. The 2.0 beta only had additions to support the AOP work I was doing. The problem is, without continued work on as3-commons-bytecode as well as changes to the Flex compiler (which I had been discussing with Adobe via the EAB before they decided to crash the plane) that code will never be fast enough for any production application. I'm not going to throw it over the wall without a reasonable plan for how it could ever be utilized. So, plans need to be in place before that happens.

Hi Chris,

I'm interested in push forward the effort of swiz framework donation. I'll propose it in the apache flex list to see if all is ok, and will ask for the requeriments to get this done.

I think we'll need :

* An email from you that express your intention of swiz source code donation.
* I'll revise the license in swiz source files to see if we need some change and your agreement

As we get the main effort accomplished, I'll be interested in know about 2.0 beta and what would we need to change in flex compiler and as3-commons-bytecode to get in touch with the right people and see what's the effort and how could we get this done.

IMHO, Swiz AOP although experimental, was showing the next evolution of this kind of frameworks and I think is far away of any other framework of technology, so it's worth the effort.

Best,

Carlos
