Idea: I'd love to be able to get rrdtool files into swivel. :)

Hi jallspaw,

Currently Swivel understands csv files, and it will probably be that way for a while.

There are some different ways you might be able to convert rddtool files into csv files. You can try to use RRD Editor (available here: http://thetoolsmith.com/rrd_editor_index.php) and see if it can export to a .csv file. Or you could do a rrdtool dump <rrd file> and parse the xml output. If you are using Cacti, it might be better if you install the plugin "dataquery": there you'll be able to export to a csv.

Let me know if you have any other questions about this.

Thanks Seema - looks like I'll be better off writing that rrd2csv
utility I've been meaning to. :)

After posting, I realized that was probably the better way to go.
thanks,
j
