of course :)
since i am quite a noob in xsi, all topics are welcome.

we eat and drink and can talk along that. for a future meeting i organize a
room with beamer etc. it all depends on how much ppl are coming.

oke :)

tah i will start now with a list of themes i really like to talk about
seriusly.
fine would be to make or see a professional aproach with xsi scenes.

Occlusions to use and how they are made with passes.
thsi is a very important topic of "rendering" because its the best
method of making different diffusion supports.
its used with games... so all kind of baking benefits
its used in feature films where the GI is not used, big environment
where the light is static.

ect..

this is my wish on the list :))

if anyone can bring a example scene i would be so happy..

hand in hand comes the scond topic...

how to make real correct multipass setups like they do with all the
partition stuffs.

this also requires a prof. scene who explain us how to do :=)

hi pascal,
very good idea to go into passes and partitions and discuss them
since they can take a lot of workload off our shoulders under time pressure.

since i am pretty new to xsi, i was testing out the passes/partition philosophy
at the beginning with some chaotic results. coming from 3ds max there seem
to be a lot more possible with passes/partitions under xsi, the price is that you
first have to understand the concept. that is the thing.....i am still learning to
understand it properly AND since the rendermanager changed quite a bit in 6
i have first to find out if the concept is still the same as my chaotic learning start
in xsi 5.11.

beside my learning experience...there are those great tutorials from bernard lebel
on 3dtutorial.com that discuss exactly this topic in a "very" detailed way, meaning
you can see all tedious work to set up passes and partitions for objects and lights.
i need some spare time to work through the tutorial..but..at the moment, no spare time.

i suggest we collect those topics for the second meeting, where we can use a beamer and
show some work/tips on the computer. i am sure that either I (after understanding passes/partitions)
or some experienced pro in our group can explain those basic topics then.

for the first meeting we go for a pizza and beer and find out what else we can work out.

dan

PS: go on, keep those topics coming :)
