Short answer: The Mac Finder is just being prickly because you're trying to run a SwitchList binary that you downloaded from
vasonabranch.com. You can actually override it and say "run that binary even though you think it's a security risk."
Switchlist 1.3.2 from the Mac App Store runs fine on MacOS Sonoma (14.5) on my Mac Studio. That's one version after Ventura, so looks like the Mac App Store version works fine.
Switchlist 1.4 downloaded from
vasonabranch.com <
http://vasonabranch.com/> fails to open with a better complaint on Ventura, declaring "Switchlist can't be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software." This actually means the Finder would *prefer not to* open it. You can override Finder's hesitation by going to System Settings /System Preferences, Choosing "Privacy and Security", then looking for a section of the Privacy and Security dialog where it asks if you'd like Finder to open Switchlist anyway. (It'll do this only after the app has failed to launch with the above message.) Click the "Open Anyway" and confirm with your password to allow your Mac to open Switchlist.
It's on my to-do list to get Switchlist 1.4 submitted to the App Store. I'll see about doing that this month so folks don't need to download the binary directly.
