Call for SGEC nominations

[SGEC executive committee]

To switchgrass research community:
The Switchgrass Genetics Executive Committee(SGEC) is seeking
nominations for 2 vacancies that will be opening up for the next year.
These positions are open to anyone in the switchgrass research community
and will serve for a period of three years. Information on eligibility
and the election process can be viewed at the following web site
(http://switchgrassgenomics.org/exec_committee.shtml). Some of the SGEC
committee goals are to help coordinate national efforts on crop
improvement and basic research, foster communication and interaction
among the community, and to understand and communicate research
priorities of and to other stakeholders. The deadline for receipt of new
nominations will be 12:00PM, June 21. Please send nominations to:
sgex...@gmail.com and only nominate those who are willing to serve for
a period of 3 years. After verifying the willingness of the nominees, a
ballot will be sent out via the switchgrass mailing list and an election
will be held at the end June.

Election to this 6 member committee is determined by the majority of
those community members who vote with certain restrictions to reduce
vulnerability to specific individual or group interests. Please see the
