Peter Roper-Curzon
Peter Roper-Curzon was born in 1977 and comes from a musical family of
ten children. He has given solo recitals and Concerti in venues such
as St. Martin-in-the-Fields, Windsor Castle, Steinway Hall, Beaulieu
Abbey and the Purcell Room, the latter at the invitation of the BBC.
In 1996 he was a National Keyboard Finalist in the BBC Young Musician
of the Year Competition appearing in the televised finals. In that
same year he was awarded the Organ Scholarship to Lady Margaret Hall
(LMH), Oxford where he read music, and directed the LMH choir,
culminating in a tour to Paris conducting and giving organ recitals at
the Cathedrals of St.Merri, Notre-Dame, St.Clothilde and La Madeleine.
Since graduating from Oxford University in 1999 with a BA/Hons degree
in Music, Peter has been continuing his recital career as both Pianist
and Organist and lives and teaches in London. During this time, he
worked at Newton Preparatory School St John Smith Square and was
soloist in Ravel's Piano Concerto in G at Epsom Playhouse. He then
gave an Organ recital in Westminster Cathedral. in Battersea, teaching
piano and singing to 5-13 year olds, and conducted their orchestra.

Sunday 4 May - 10 a.m. to 4 pm.
Monday 5 May - 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Day 1 - TECHNIQUE STUDIES
* a) discovering good ways to practise demanding technical passages
* b) posture and relaxation
* c) ways to use the pedal
Day 2 - INTERPRETATION
* a) phrasing, articulation and sound quality
* b) appropriate ways to interpret the music
Day 3 - PERFORMANCE
* a) memorisation of passages or whole pieces
* b) ways to communicate with the audience
* c) the complete performance which summarises all of the above

Music Trust (NB we can also take credit/debit card payments by phone).
Coda Music Trust will allocate places on a first come first served
