to Swing Jazz Guitar
For years D'Addario was always my trusted steed. Firm and smooth and
well priced. The only thing I didn't like–as with many other strings–
was the over-sized bass strings. Thomastik do a .12 to .50 in their
Swing series, and that worked well but they are not very bright,
unlike their steel counterparts. So I moved to SIT that do the same
guage. They are OK but also go dull after a while. I then tried GHS
and these are like no other flatwound I have tried. They seem to be
looser, and have a very bright sound, ideal for archtop accoustic
guitars. The only downside is the extra movement means raising the
bridge to prevent fret buzz.
