Please find attached minutes from Swindon Youth festival.
Here are some of the actions from our own meeting on Saturday-
Fairtrade goods on the stall: There were two avenues to check - one
was to see if Becs good organise this through the Oxfam shop and the
second was to check if the Fairtrade group in Swindon would be
interested in a joint venture for the festival. Emma is to look into
this.
Greg is to examine the Oxfam website for themes for the Youth festival
stall. We thought climate change was a good theme and worked well last
year but may be over done and a new theme might be of more interest to
young people. The advantage of the climate change was we have all the
resources from last year. What resources worked well last year was the
Barrier tape and it is alway a must in these kinds of events; the
treasure hunt and footprint may need more tweaking, If we go with a
new theme we will have to get new resources. Greg is to check what
other resources the Oxfam office has in it's South West Office to
support other Oxfam themes.
Logistics of the stall - we had 3 tables last year which we I can
request for this year from Steve. We also need to find a gazepo.
There are a number of things that the Oxfam Group can get involved in.
Emma and Greg mentioned a boat thing and a film evening which we can
discuss at the next meeting.
The next meeting will be on the 30th July at 7 pm. The venue is Piri Piri.
