Saturday + scout event

Hello,

 

thanks to everyone who helped at the Youth Festival stall Saturday.

We had a really successful day, and it was great fun.

I will post some pics shortly.

We collected £16.07 in the rattle tins, and made £58 for the Oxfam shop from Fairtrade and White Band sales.

 

I have just recieved a message asking for help at an Oxfam Scout event at Lydiard park at the end of September - see text below. I will probably offer to go along and help for a bit - would anyone else be interested? (Carmel and Gaute get let-off as they might have other things to do!)

Hi Emma

I got your email address from Naveed Chaudhri in our Activist team here
in
Oxford as he said you may be able to help me out.

At the end of July I was lucky enough to work for Oxfam at the
International Scout Jamboree in Essex where we ran climte change-themed
workshops and an exhibition. This was really successful and so I have
volunteered to run similar activities at the Swindon Ridgeway District
Centenary Camp and so wanted to find out if you or any of the Swindon
Campaigns Group would be available to help out?

The Camp runs from 6pm Friday 28th September - 4.00pm Sunday 30th (with
the
activities taking place on the Saturday between 10am and 6pm) and we're
expecting approx 500 Beavers, Cubs and Scouts aged roughly between 6
and
16.

I'll just be going for the day on the Saturday (+ setting up on Friday
eve)
and it's all taking place at Lydiard Park, in the events field.

There is no need for CRB checking as volunteers will always be
accompanied
by someone who is checked when working with the children.

If you think you might be able to help, please let me know and we can
discuss further details about the activities.
