[Invitation] to upcycling practitioners’ workshop on 9th of March in London

Dear members,

 

I am writing this to invite you to the 'upcycling practitioners' workshop' on 9th of March in London.

The purpose of the workshop is  to ask you about your experiences of commercialisation in terms of barriers, problems, or difficulties as well as your opinions on what interventions(e.g. policy) may be required to help your business to become mainstream. 

 

The event details are as follows:

- date: 9th (Wed) of March 2016

- venue: SOAS (School of Oriental and African Studies) University of London 

- programme: 

    (1) lunch with networking (12:00-12:50)

    (2) opening and keynote speeches (12:50-13:30): keynote speakers (Rebecca Earley: http://www.beckyearley.com/; http://www.upcyclingtextiles.net/; and Jamie Billinghttp://www.co-oproduct.org/)

    (3) group activity 1 (13:30-14:30)

    (4) coffee break (14:30-15:00)

    (5) group activity 2 (15:00-16:30)

    (6) closing and feedback (16:30-17:00)

- financial cover: travel cost (2nd class) reimbursement; lunch and refreshments

- benefits of participation: networking with other practitioners as well as academic experts in sustainable production and consumption; best chocolates in Nottingham!

- event background: this workshop is funded by the Centre for Industrial Energy, Materials and Products (http://ciemap.leeds.ac.uk/).
