Pledges and donations for a new space

Hi All

As per our other thread on forming as a CIC (which we've done), we're about to start hunting in earnest for a new venue!! :)    With BSS House looking like the most likely option.

In parallel, we'd like to collate member pledges/donations of:

1) Money

If you're able/willing to donate some money to help bootstrap a new Makerspace venue (i.e. exclusively ours with 24x7 access), please could you email a "blind-ish" pledge to Jess - who will collate ready for a big reveal once we have secured a space.  Please use email:  snmake AT jandj DOT me DOT uk

2) Kit

If you'd like to donate, or relocate, any decent kit to the new makerspace venue (once we have one), please add to the list on our wiki:

Rough plan is:

• Jan - Feb: 
• Venue hunting, shortlist and pick one (all being well)
• Review finances
• Mar
• Sort out paperwork, and remaining groundwork (insurance, etc)
• Start PR campaign to drum up excitement, membership and support for fit out
• Contact other groups around Swindon to try and line up regular bookings (extra income)
• Apr
• Sign lease, move in and start the fit out - will need LOTS of volunteer effort and where we'll spend most of the pledge money
• Continue PR campaign - run some events in the new space

Cool. 

I dont have any "exciting" heavy maker tools to add I'm afraid (or any light tools that we don't already have!) Also I don't really want to relocate anything because wherever the new space is its unlikely to be local to me. 

I do have an unused 8 port gigabit Netgear switch and a BT Home Hub 3 that I'll donate if they are useful (don't know what plans are for broadband / network)

I could also have a fridge and freezer (separate units) to donate if either would be useful.  I've been meaning to buy a new combined one for about 3 years now, but never seem to get round to doing so.  If either was wanted at the new space, it might just nudge me into action for getting myself a new one :-)

I think the network gear will be useful/needed...  which reminds me, I've got an old (3-yrs) desktop that might be useful, will add to the list

Fridge/freezer = excellent

Leads me to think we should start a list of things to get (not tools)...  like hoover, dustpan/brush, kettle, etc

Will refactor the wiki page for starters, although should probably be broken out at some point

I have a hoover you can have, and a decent kettle.

I'm still hoping to get back there when I'm less busy!
