Sadly, about 2 days after posting version 1.09, I saw this error too.
I have the fix in the upcoming version 1.10, but I will create a quick fix and post it tonight.

Just posted swift109_patch_01.tar.gz

Just uncompress it, and insert these updated files into your webserver
swifttide installation directory. (The name of this directory will
vary based on what installation of webserver you are running, in
Apache it is often /var/www/html)

YOU MUST BE RUNNING AT LEAST PHP 4.3, as these fixes, along with the
next version of Commmand School, will utilize features in this and
more recent releases.

Hi Doug,
I am also experiencing the same problem. There are two problems;
1) Saving a new contact user of student, when you click on set as user, the following error occurs;
     SQL/DB Error -- [You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ' 'ayo', 'ade', ' ', 1)' at line 3]
SQL/DB Error -- [You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ' 102)' at line 1]
This also affects editing existing contact user record.

2) When you search for a student from manage student, it returns more than one record for that particular student, despite only one record of that student appear in the database. so from where did it get other displayed records?
Please i need your help and contributions.  Thanks
