I thought there would be a bigger representation from SLN but it was a really big and exciting event. I was pleased I went, and my hat attracted quite a lot of attention with great networking opportunities. 👍😀

Hi all, I was at the March with a swift on my banner and swifts calling from my phone😃 I didn’t hook up with the other folk from the swift block but I saw their banners from a distance. I was with a mix of people from various groups - we ended up marching behind a Wildlife Trust group and Right To Roam!

I think the speeches were good, though some of them were a little off message I thought. The lack of coverage is so very disappointing but somehow unsurprising. I’m not sure who was doing the comms, but it does feel like the only way to gain attention is via the power of big celebrities or through controversial action (which can then prove to be too divisive to be effective).

We must not be too despondent with change on the horizon and if we keep the pressure on, they will have to listen! Groups like us working together is key - I’m in awe of all your hard work everyone!😃❤️

Pleased to hear that your experience was positive, Jay.  I'm so frustrated about the lack of profile given to the event.

Here are a couple of photos from the march, as promised.

The RSPB avocet puppet was beautiful.

Thanks for your positivity, Paula. You are right, we just have to keep up the pressure.

Like you, I am in awe of how much so many people are doing.  I'm very grateful to be in this group, as if I wasn't, I would sometimes feel like a loan voice!

Jay - I forgot to ask you to share a photo of your swift hat!
