As you are a local veterinary practice in Surrey, where we have pockets of swift colonies, many of which are being actively conserved and encouraged to grow with the introduction of swift nest boxes and swift bricks, we would be very grateful if you were able to read the attached document and information:
Please find attached a guide for vets (Note for vet) to dealing with swifts and similar species of wild birds, which may be brought into your practice by the public.
There is a network of carers who are able to provide advice and in many cases will collect the birds for rehabilitation.
Please see the link beneath on how to contact them, as well as a document on how to best look after the birds when they first arrive at your practice.
