Still waiting for more than a handful of swifts to return to this chilly and wet corner of Warwickshire!
I know that some of you out there are doing incredible things to promote swift awareness and that this might seem very minor, but I have decided to share it anyway, in case anyone else wants to do something similar!
This morning I gave an assembly about Swifts to my local primary school and at the same time announced a competition for the children to write a swift-themed acrostic poem. This is a joint venture between Harbury Swifts (me!) and our village library. The competition closing date falls in SAW (24 June) and the winners (KS1 & KS2) will be announced at our children's Swift Activity on 27 June at the library. So the competition is almost but not quite a SAW event.
Anyway, let me know if you have ever run a swift-themed poetry competition and how it went. I really hope we get some entries!
