Dear Friends and Colleagues, over 919,000 people have signed up
across Europe to make it clear that our health and nature is not
for sale. But we want to get to the million, yes, that big
number and that's why we want you to join and sign this petition
before October 20.
The laws, achieved after a tough fight, that protect nature,
health and the future of Europe are in jeopardy.
Over the past year, the European Commission, under
pressure from polluting industries and EU countries, has
quietly pursued a far-reaching deregulation program that is,
in practice, weakening the very laws aimed at protecting
nature and people.
These attacks threaten our clean water, safe food, clean air and
healthy ecosystems.
But Europeans are standing up.
Hundreds of thousands of people are urging the European
Commission and EU governments not to touch laws that protect our
water, our air, our biodiversity and much more.
On 23 October, we will hand over signatures of the petition
directly to EU Environment Commissioner Jessika Roswall,
bringing the voices of hundreds of thousands of people to the
heart of EU decision-making.
Let's make sure our message is impossible to ignore!
The EU already has strong legislation in place to protect
nature. What we need now is for these laws to be fully
implemented, properly funded and effectively enforced, rather
than weakened or deregulated.
Every signature counts. Every time it's shared, it counts.
If you have already signed, please share the petition with your
friends, family and networks, and help us reach one million
signatures before the deadline.
🚨 The final countdown has begun. Tell your leaders not to touch
nature!
