Hi Emma,
I can't see how to message you directly, so apologies that everyone will receive this report and photos. The photos are attached as a Google drive link, below.
Twenty four people came to our Swift Half @ the Shakespeare Inn on Monday 29th, in our village in Harbury, Warwickshire. The pub car park and garden are always good places to watch our swifts from!
I gave a 15 min talk to explain the purpose and need for Swift Awareness Week, and some of the ways in which swifts are so incredible and why they are in decline. The recent hot weather helped in the explanation for the need of carers like Louise Bentley, which was a way to introduce Justin and Duncan's wonderful film. As expected, the audience was moved by this film and everyone enjoyed the evening. We rounded it off with a walk around Harbury to see some nest sites. The swifts put on a brilliant aerial display for us!
