Hello,
Not sure if you can help, but I am running a basketball pool and am
trying to do it remotely through my computer using my Motorola Droid.
I am connected to the internet through PDANet and when I attempt to
FTP upload and build my website I am unable to do so. It says I am
not connected to the server. Not sure if this is what the app was
intended to do, but I am trying to go out Saturday night in an area
where I do not have wifi other than through my phone. Let me know if
there is anything I can or should be doing.

Server status: running
WIFI URL: unknown
wifi status: Enabled

Experimental global proxy
Status: connected
URL: ftp://nbetc_bj...@c1.swiftp.org
Used: 0.00 GB

I'm not clear on what you're trying to do. Let me take a guess:

You have your laptop connected to the net by using PDANet on your Droid. You are using this connection to connect to your web host provider, and you are having some trouble. Unless I'm mistaken, this has nothing to do with SwiFTP.

Simultaneously, you are running SwiFTP for some other reason. Is this correct?

Background: SwiFTP is an FTP server that allows you to connect to your phone to transfer files. It has nothing to do with connections to any other FTP servers. Sorry if you already knew this, but I want to make sure we're all on the same page.

Cheers,
Dave

SwiFTP allows you to run an FTP server on your phone so you can login
to SwiFTP's FTP server on the phone (over wifi, usually) and transfer
files to your phone.

It isn't an internet tethering app. For that you use PDAnet - as you
say - and once tethered you ftp to whatever other server you need to
talk to.....but it won't be SwiFTP on your phone....unless you found a
way to run an Internet-visible web server on your phone and you've got
your basketball pages hosted on it. That would be cool....and very
unreliable. :-)
